Another Great "PIF" Story

Dear PIF,

I want to take a minute to write a thank you, for your great charity and kindness towards the Pay It Forward Foundation and your donation of the wristbands. When I contacted the foundation and recieved a response from you last year, I simply thought you were a member of the staff responding to my request, as I was asking if it was possible to have some bracelets donated my way for a class I was teaching on Paying it Forward, for kids who had disabilities. I am a college student currently studying to be a teacher, and before I knew it, the idea of this lesson spread faster than I expected and these young minds were inspired, and these students who suffer from debilitating disabilities and yet are trying to obtain their GEDs, were out and about keeping journals of Pay it Forward actions, and reporting back to me of things they had done that day to help Pay it Forward.

I just recently saw on the organization's website that you in fact had made such a generous donation, of these wristbands and that truly inspired me. The kids were so touched and continue to wear their wristbands, and they nominated me to receive an award on campus at our annual GREAT day presentation, in which I am now going to re- present this lesson to the board, parents, students, and anyone else who wishes to attend and I look forward to spreading the idea of Paying It Forward even further. This "lesson" I put together for my education classes has now been taught in English, French and Spanish to various groups and will be used for years to come. Thank you so much for your generous contribution, I look forward to spreading the word and every time I hand out one more wristband, I feel honored.

Go Help my Nation....

When I was either 13 or 14 years of age I had a lot going on in my life and I didn't think of nothing esle than to wanted to kill myself. But in the summer of 2006 I went to a youth conference and my life was changed. After that week of my life was changed, things started to open my heart and of those made was to help my community and than even bigger things started to open for me. I remember was watching TV and saw a St. Jude's commerical it touch my heart so much that I said to myself '' I need to make this world a better place '' than just next couple of weeks later we watched the movie '' Pay it Forward '' and after watching the movie, God told me '' Go help my nation '' So ever since than I been helping people and my local community. Once upon graduation I be heading into the military to serve my country and fight for my freedom and ever paycheck I will get im going to donate most of the money to organizations and help more people and sick little children. I always think to myself, '' one person can make a difference '' and I want to show the world that I care and I'm willing to sacrifice my life as well. My faith is so strong, my strength and I'm willing to give up my life for somebody that deserve to live.

Sweet "PIF" Story......

OMG....

I was so touched when this movie camo out...I have watched it so many times and even bought a copy for a friend who is paying it forward!!!!

I have interacted with so many people because of this movie and my life is better. The concept is a "win win". You feel good about doing something for others and they inturn feel good about what you have done for them.


My husband and I don't have a lot. But we feel we do. Wef have given out small amounts of money but here are just some of the things we have done to change a persons life in a little way:


1) paid for a young...very young mans cleaning bill for his military uniform ( he was going to Iraq the next day and his mom was with him...he had to be 17 !!!!!)

2) helped a older man find the right "microwave popcorn" at our grocery store...he didn't want to much salt in it for his wife and saw too many brands. I spent about a 1/2 hour going through all the brands with him...what a great gentleman he was

3) was at a fast burger place, saw 2 men who were, shall we say, very very poor, splitting a sandwich!!!! We gave them each $20.00 and told them to get a goooood meal...they hugged us so much and it felt sooooo very good

4) One thing we do at least once a year is go to one of those game places where you win tickets...we exchange the tickets for stuffed animals ( the most we can get) and then go around the place and look for kids who are trying to win games and tell them they just won a stuffed toy and to pick one!!! they are sooooo happy and excited ( we do tell the parents what we are doing so they don't think we are strange lol)

5) my husband likes to help the older people get their groceries in their cars especially when it is cold out. They always give him a big hug!!!!!


These are just SOME of the examples of what we have done. We have never taken money from them but have asked them to Pay it Forward and do something nice for someone else......


Oh, another thing we do a lot is when you are at a check out ...they always have candy bars/.....I always ask the cashier what her favorite candy bar is and then buy it for them!!! The are so surprised and very greatful for this small gift.


I am truly blessed to have seen this movie and will continue to always spread the word. It has changed our lives!!!!
