Five years ago my husband and many others in their company lost their jobs. He was unemployed for a year, but was actively seeking work during that time. It was discouraging for him, at times.
During that experience, friends and family came to our aid. They prayed for us, encouraged us, provided food, and fellowship. Although his unemployment pay ran-out, God was still there! I soon discovered my husband's current job in an ad in a local newspaper.
In this economy, we have paid-back the kindnesses of others by giving food to our local food-bank; providing food to a specific family whose mom lost her job, and whose dad is down to working only one week a month. I also use our home computer to find work for them and others. Should this letter win, just give the prize to the most needy family-- no matter what they may have written!
